First Field Trip of 2023
First club trip of the year to Conder Pool, Cockerham, Eagland Hill and finally Knott End was held on Saturday 7th of January. 15 members attended at the new early start time of 8am. 59 species seen including Black Redstarts, Hen Harrier, Bewick Swan a good selection waders and 2 viewable Barn Owls before full light on the morning. A great outing despite the poor weather conditions

Venue Change for Indoor Meetings
Due to the increasing numbers of attendees at our indoor meetings we will be moving venue to Higham Village Hall from January 2022. Initially the venue has been booked until May 2022.
The first meeting in February proved to be a successful one with plenty of room and good facilities.
The new venue is Higham Village Hall, Higham Hall Road. BB12 9EU. Next to St. John the Evangelist Church.
Alston and Grimsargh Wetlands Field Trip
Saturday 13th November (morning only) Alston and Grimsargh Wetlands. Meet at 09:30. Take B6243 Preston Road out of Longridge and park on the access road to the new housing estate opposite Pinfold Lane, SD601357. Alston wetland SD605360 is on Pinfold lane, but there is no parking. Grimsargh Wetland SD590347 is also off the B6243 about a mile further towards Preston. Park on Elston Lane, SD592345, which is on the left opposite to the footpath to the wetland SD591345.
October Field Trip
Our October Field trip will be to Heysham Nature Reserve and Sunderland Point.
Sunday 17th October
Meet at 10:30 am at the parking area by Heysham Nature Reserve LA3 2XA and after lunch when the tide has receded travel to the parking area at Sunderland Point LA3 3HR.

September Field Trip
Saturday 4th September. Burton Mere Wetland RSPB
Meet at 9:30 at Burton Mere Wetland RSPB. CH64 5SF, (SJ319739). Directions; at the end of the M56 join the A5117 and at the roundabout turn right onto the A540. Half a mile after the A550 crossroads, turn left down Puddington Lane and go through Puddington Village. There is no High tide during our visit, Low tide is at 13:30.
